Facial Reflexology

I was fortunate to train with Ziggie Bergman who is the UK’s leading expert in Facial Reflexology. Ziggie pioneered the Bergman method of Advanced Facial Reflexology and is the winner of the Association of Reflexologists’ Award for Excellence and Innovation in Modern Facial Reflexology.

What is Facial Reflexology?

Facial Reflexology is a holistic treatment which incorporates the same principles as foot reflexology, where the reflexes on the face are worked on to help stimulate the body’s healing mechanism. The Bergman method of Facial Reflexology draws upon a combination of Native American techniques and Asian body maps, resulting in a wonderful relaxing and restorative treatment.

The face’s close proximity to the brain and cranial nerves make Facial Reflexology very powerful in impacting the body systems, it promotes deep relaxation helping to relieve symptoms of stress and fatigue. The gentle pressure and manipulation of the reflexes also gives the added benefit of working the facial muscles, releasing muscular tension, resulting in an improvement in the skin tone, appearing firmer, plumper and more radiant.

The treatment can help with conditions such as headaches, migraines, sinusitis, bruxism (teeth grinding) and Bell’s Palsy but it also:

• improves circulation to the face and head.
• improves lymphatic drainage aiding the removal of waste products and toxins.
• relieves stress and tension in the body and creates a general sense of calm.
• relieves mental stress and improves concentration.

What happens during a treatment?

During the initial consultation, we will discuss your medical history and lifestyle, this allows me to draw up a bespoke treatment plan for your needs.

Once you are comfortable on the couch, your face will be cleansed using hot towels and natural facial products. For the main part of the facial reflexology treatment, I use Flying Wild handmade organic facial oil, Rose, Frankincense or unscented, matching your skin type, which are nourishing and revitalising for the skin. I apply gentle pressure on reflex points on the face and use massage and natural lifting techniques. The experience is deeply relaxing and provides a deep sense of inner calm and an improved sense of well-being, as well as a glowing complexion.

** Please note: if you have received Facial Fillers or Botox, I am unable to provide a treatment for three weeks after receiving it. If you have undergone any Face Lift Surgery, I am unable to treat for three months after the operation, or six months if there were any complications/infections. Please email me at penny@pennybarringtonreflexology.co.uk if you have any questions **
