These reflex points correspond to all of the different parts of the body, including organs and glands. Stimulating these reflexes can reduce congestion and restore the free flow of energy to the whole body, interrupting the pattern of stress and help bring the body back into balance. It treats the mind and body as a whole thus achieving an increased state of wellbeing.
You don’t need to be ill to benefit from reflexology, you may just want the opportunity to relax, de-stress and take time for yourself. Reflexology can help with specific symptoms and regular treatments can help your body to sustain optimum health and may be ideal as a preventative measure.
What happens during a Reflexology Treatment?
Your first appointment will last around 75 minutes to allow time for a consultation. I will take your full medical history and discuss any medical issues or concerns. This will allow me to check for any contra-indications and to tailor the treatment specifically to your needs.
I will then ask you to remove your shoes and socks and to make yourself comfortable on the treatment couch.
Once you are comfortable, I will cleanse your feet with a hot towel. Some people like to talk during a treatment, others prefer to be quiet and close their eyes, it is your treatment so I take the lead from you. During the treatment I will work the reflexes by applying pressure over specific reflex areas. Some areas may be uncomfortable depending on the individual but this is usually only fleeting and soon passes.
Most people have a feeling of relaxation, a release of tension and an improved sense of well-being after a treatment.
Afterwards you will be encouraged to spend a few minutes relaxing on the couch with a glass of water, I will spend some time with you discussing any areas that showed an imbalance.
Many clients tell me that they feel like they feel like they have a new pair of feet when they leave with a spring in their step. If you would like to read some client reviews press here.......
